Deri Llewellyn-Davies will be speaking at the Oyster Club on the 3rd May, about his newly released book ‘Life’s Great Adventure’ published by Conch Press as part of the YOUniversal Adventure Club series.
When it comes to Deri, the phrase ‘suited and booted’ takes on a new meaning. As the UK’s leading authority on bringing strategy alive, Deri spends his days in a pinstriped three-piece and his spare time climbing the highest summits in the world wearing some of the biggest boots in the world (just one of his extreme exploits). Deri loves business and adventure in equal measure and the same motivation underpins both: a fascination with life and a curiosity that always leads him to ask, “Why?” or more importantly, “Why not,” as he believes anything is possible.
Deri is part way through a self-styled ‘Global Adventurer’s Grand Slam’ – something he created aged 30 when an injury sustained during an international tournament ended his rugby career. Having completed the Marathon des Sables (the toughest thing he’ll ever do) and climbed five of the world’s highest summits, Deri has only two more mountains, both Poles, an Iron Man and a jungle marathon to go…though the biggest challenge will be leaving his wife and daughters behind for extended periods.
Deri will speak about his extreme adventures whilst posing some pertinent questions about life and legacy. This inspirational piece is meant to help you own discovery of your great adventure, what ever that may be. He takes you on an exhilarating journey from humble beginnings, across the Sahara desert and over some of the highest mountains on earth whilst revealing the core life lessons he discovered on the way. These lessons now guide him in everything he does. Come join us for an evening of adventure and inspiration.
